INTENSIVE ENGLISH COURSE
Intensive English Course is designed to offer the students the opportunity to improve their English language proficiency.
The Intensive English course is suitable for students from emergent speaker (phases 1 and 2) levels to capable (phase 3) and is taught in small groups of no more than 12. This enables our teachers to use small group teaching dynamics and at the same time focus on the specific linguistic needs of each student.
Our Intensive English course includes 10 blocks per week (4.5 hours per day from Monday to Friday). 10 blocks (each block being 85 minutes), 4 per week cover all aspects of improving English communication skills and includes listening and reading tasks, speaking and writing activities, as well as necessary grammar, pronunciation and developing the vocabulary in English. 1 additional studying block per day provides the opportunity to develop language learning further by using the ØIS library.

(Be a Spelling Bee – based on America’s Spelling Bee model)
Imagine what your child can do by learning more words and more about words (their origin, spelling rules, etc). Be a Spelling Bee, elective invites PYP children to expand their spelling foundation orally. It is a fun and exciting ways to boost your child’s confidence and command over their work. This elective will run for 10 weeks and all materials for the course will be provided.

IB MATHS SL/HL EXAM PREP
This elective course is designed to prepare DP students for IB SL/HL Mathematics exam. The lessons will be based on IB SL/HL Mathematics Exam type of questions solving. When it is needed the topic will be revised based on the questions.

This Elective is designed to offer the students the opportunity to develop their technique, to improve their core strength and flexibility while enjoying the fundamentals of dance and experiencing some classical repertoire.

This elective is designed to look the basics of digital photography and other exciting forms of recording light.
We will look at camera settings, light, subjects, editing techniques/Photoshop and managing lens. We can also experiment with photography without lenses and without cameras – photograms using natural elements like the sun. We will look at abstract and pinhole photography and some of the most interesting photography in contemporary art today.
Just bring along something to take photographs with a mobile phone or digital camera. If you are lucky enough to have an SLR camera or laptop bring them along and we can learn how to make the most of them.
Miss McNulty is an artist that has been working & exhibiting in New York, London and Copenhagen over the last 15 years, and runs the project space, Tørreloft, Copenhagen. She holds an MFA from the Slade School of Fine Art, London and BA from Georgetown University. Working primarily with expanded painting, often in relation- ship to photography, she has had recent residencies at the Danish Art Workshops and was Teaching Assistant at Georgetown University’s Photography Department.

Training absolute beginners looking to learn a new style or to develop technique, the class has something for everyone.
The first set of classes are focused on building and developing technique and learning choreography. The second set of classes are focused on fitness and yoga. All classes will exercise your body and mind but cater to different student needs. The aim of the class to enjoy the joy and freedom of Bollywood music which is high in energy and absolute fun.
